Jinfo‑Mountain Hiking Race

Nearly 4,000 hikers from all over China came together on Saturday to take part in the 10th Jinfo Mountain Hiking Race. The race was held in Chongqing, Southwest China. This event is very popular because it combines sports with nature.

Jinfo Mountain is a special place. It is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site because of its amazing karst landscape. Many tourists visit the mountain every year, as they want to see its amazing steep cliffs, gorges, peaks, caves, stone forests and waterfalls. These natural features were formed over millions of years, and they make the mountain a perfect place for hiking and exploration.

The race had three different groups: competitive, fitness, and family. Among these, the competitive group was the most difficult, as it tested both speed and endurance. In this group, hikers had to run a difficult 14.5-kilometer course. The path included steep climbs and even a trail that was built along the side of a cliff.

Liu Jun from Hubei province won the men's race. He finished in one hour and 32 minutes. Liu Jianhua from Chengdu won the women's race with a time of one hour and 55 minutes. The fitness and family groups ran a six-kilometer route. This route was not as hard but still let them enjoy the beautiful nature around them. Many families said they had a great time together.

Jinfo Mountain is one of China's best eco-tourism spots. Over 95% of the area is covered by forests. And the air is cool and full of oxygen, especially in the summer. Because of this, many people visit the mountain to escape the heat and breathe fresh air.

The hiking race started in 2015 and has become a very important outdoor event in China. Since then, it has helped to bring more tourists to the area, and the local economy has improved because of this. Many people now know about Jinfo Mountain because of this race.
