What can a teenager make with just a phone and a love for movies? In Sydney, Australia, Charli Fletcher made a short scary film that is catching attention across the country.
The film is called Don't Ignore Me. It was directed by Charli when she was just 15 years old. She filmed it in between school, homework, and two part-time jobs. There were no big cameras or a large crew. Charli used only her phone and her own ideas.
Now her hard work has paid off. Her film was nominated for a short film award at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, or AACTA Awards. It is one of the country's biggest film and TV prizes. Charli was very surprised and excited when she got the call.
The film tells the story of a young woman who cannot stop looking at her phone. As she keeps scrolling on her phone, a dark force slowly pulls her in. Charli says the idea came from real life. "I see so many of my friends getting lost in their phones," she said.
The AACTA Awards ceremony was held on February 7, 2026. Charli now hopes she can share her film with the world.
