Youngest Racer Shao Ziyan

Can you imagine how a child can drive a race car? Shao Ziyan is widely regarded as the world's youngest race car driver after becoming certified (认证的) when he was only five years old.

At an age when most kids can barely walk, Shao Ziyan already drove race cars in real life. He first experienced racing simulators (模拟器) at the age of 1. He started driving race karts(卡丁车) before he turned 3 years old.

At the age of 4, Shao started competing in professional rally events(拉力赛). He won the Hope Star Award at the 2023 China Rally Sprint Championship. In two popular racing simulators, he ranked among the top 30 drivers globally. This made his father improve his first rally car.

On April 9, 2023, 5-year-old Shao Ziyan received a training certificate (证书) that was certified by the China Automobile and Motorcycle Federation. So he became the youngest licensed racing driver in the country. Last year, he drove a race car to take part in the China Wuyi Automobile Rally.

According to Chinese sources, Shao Ziyan's father invested (投资) around 800,000 yuan in improved race cars and advanced driving simulators. His father also served as his co-pilot in rally races.

Although he drives better than many adults, Shao Ziyan never drives on public roads. His race cars are carried to the race spaces by trucks, following the rules of the Road Traffic Safety Law. He knows that safety always comes first.

Even though he is young, Shao Ziyan trains very hard every day. He listens carefully to his coaches and learns new skills with great passion. With the strong support of his family, Shao Ziyan is determined to follow his dream of becoming a world champion in the future.
